Why we share event information
“I don't believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is so vertical. It goes from the top to the bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other person. I have a lot to learn from other people.” - Eduardo Galeano
Solidarity grows when people act in solidarity. Growing relationships does take time but can't be done unless people meet. Here in Manitoba we live among Indigenous communities that are thriving and active - so much is happening!
The events, initiatives and fundraisers listed have been shared by Indigenous community members and/or solidarity groups, and/or were listed in public postings. You may find them to be a good place to continue your learning journey and to grow some new relationships.
We list many different kinds of events - from art shows to author talks, community gatherings to marches, demonstrations and more.
Tips for using the calendar
To find out details about an event click on its name.
The calendar is set to show a full month. You can see just a week at a time by clicking "Week". Clicking "Agenda" will display the events in a list.
No matter what view you choose you can move back and forth in time using the arrows.
