Rooster Town Revisited: The Other Side of the Story by Lawrence J. Barkwell
This article was written as a kind of response to the Winnipeg Free Press piece "The Outsiders" (see below). It was published in Grassroots News (link not available). A number of people in the Métis community felt that that article did not tell enough about Rooster Town residents' sense of community and pride.

Facebook page - Rooster Town Blockade at the Parker Wetlands

In July, 2017 a group of people established a blockade against development near the former Rooster Town site(s) at what is referred to by some as the Parker Wetlands. This page provided updates and information from their perspective. Last updated in 2020.
This site is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba on Treaty 1 Territory and the Homeland of Métis Nation. Groundwork for Change is a website only.
